The next big thing - At Home Dining

This week we are thrilled to showcase Alexandra's At Home dining experiences. Yup, that's right, live like a local and have lunch, Afternoon Tea or a fabulous dinner in our host Alex's fabulous Victorian villa in north London. Alex will cook your meal and chat to you as you just sit back and enjoy restaurant quality food in her own kitchen/dining room.

Alex offers a delicious 4 course lunch or dinner showcasing British classics along with her a Traditional Afternoon Tea which can be enjoyed in her home or in her garden (weather permitting) . She now also offers a fabulous Champagne Afternoon Tea and Guided Walking Tour of her local area taking in famous film locations and the homes of famous former residents then sit and indulge in a spectacular Afternoon Tea - delicious.

Lunch and Dinner

Kick start the event with a Pimms or Bellini and some delicate Amuse Bouche in a relaxed environment before going through for a delicious three course meal showcasing British classics such as King Prawns with Smoked Salmon with Horseradish toast, Confit Duck in a sour Cherry Sauce or a Traditional British Steak Pie. Finish the meal with a fragrant lemon tart or traditional Sachertorte

The menu includes a welcome cocktail, water, bread and a glass of wine per person

for lunch and half a bottle wine for dinner.

Groups of 35 can be accommodated across two rooms. (22 and 15) Alex has a lovely garden which can be used for arrival aperitif on that warm, sunny, summer’s day!

Afternoon Tea

Alex now also offers a stunning Traditional Afternoon Tea. The tea itself is very much in keeping with British traditions and our tea culture and is served on special layered tea trays to include a selection of the savoury and then sweet. Given the age of the house one can easily imagine Afternoon Tea being served in this way for generations.

The menu includes a welcome cocktail, amuse bouche, gorgeous English sandwiches, delicious sweet treats and to finish the traditional scone with jam and cream. Served alongside is properly brewed leaf tea, Fortnum’s afternoon Assam blend.

Guided Walk and Champagne Afternoon Tea

Join a guided walk through historically beautiful Primrose Hill and enjoy a quintessentially English Afternoon Tea in her beautiful 1840’s home.

The walking tour takes in the beautiful stucco houses and film sets of famous movies such as Bridget Jones diary, Paddington 2 and 101 Dalmatians as well as the majestic views from the top of Primrose Hill itself, a must have photo opportunity when visiting London. The tour passes the former homes of literary greats such as Sylvia Plath, Dylan Thomas and that of Friedrich Engels, the founding father of Marxism. Then a gentle stroll home past Regent’s Park to a champagne tea in a typically English walled garden. In the event of rain, this will be served in the dining room.

The afternoon will begin at 2.30pm at Chalk Farm tube station and will last for about 3 hours (this can be shorter on request).
